COURAGEOUS CONVERSATIONS

A B O U T T H E S E R I E S

Over the last five years, over 1,500 people gathered for Courageous Conversations to learn and practice how to foster greater inclusion and belonging in their communities.

Hosted by Rev. Dr. Zina Jacque and Jessica Green and produced by Urban Consulate, the series took place at Barrington’s White House, Barrington High School and virtually, online.

“I had the most wonderful and inspiring time in Barrington. So grateful for what you are doing, and for letting us be part of it. I continue to cheer you on and am truly eager to hear how it unfolds.”

-Krista Tippett, On Being

“It was such a joy to be with this vibrant community!”

-Valarie Kaur, Revolutionary Love Project

“There is a great civic awakening underway. People like all of you, who have been showing up — first at Barrington’s White House, and now together online. We’re all yearning for the same thing: community, meaning and purpose. It’s really an honor to be a part of this series and the entire endeavor, that this community gathers this way, is an inspiration. It’s awesome to be part of this.”

-Eric Liu, Citizen University

"I'm deeply honored to be in conversation with you, and this whole effort which I find so elegantly designed. I just wish every community had an effort like this."

-Courtney E. Martin, Learning in Public
